Welcome to the little corner of the internet dedicated to some of my creative work. As a potter I produce functional, wheel thrown ceramics that are then fired in my home studio in Malden, Massachusetts. While my main focus is on pottery, my creative journey started out in the theater and then shifted to photography before I found my way to the wheel.
I’m drawn to ceramics - functional pottery in particular - because the pieces are made to be touched. The life of the piece, from the creative process to the finished product, is a tactile experience for the potter and the user.
Between 2005-2011 I experimented with photography, although I couldn’t find my way around a dark room if I tried. The images included here were either shot with a Holga using 120mm slide film that was cross-processed at the local camera shop, or they were created using the Through the Viewfinder method. More on that here if you’re interested.
